Illusions Engine Development

Cecil Stevens started his professional career as a Marine before doing battle in the NASCAR engine development arena.  Cecil developed engine packages at Richard Petty Enterprises and worked closely with famed engine builder Maurice Petty and NASCAR Hall-of-Fame inductee Dale Inman.

He concentrated on valve train development and combustion analysis research at Bill Davis Racing and was a major contributor to the development of the Daytona 500-winning BDR Dodge engine.  Cecil’s research also contributed to the combustion-based development of the Toyota Cup engine.

His combustion analysis contributed to the engine’s impressive record of 151 consecutive races without a failure. Cecil is currently a consultant in the performance engine development industry.
